Qualifications:

  • Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
  • Active Texas Physical Therapist Assistant license or eligibility to obtain licensure.
  • Outpatient orthopedic experience preferred, but not required.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Treat patients under the direction and plan of care established by the supervising Physical Therapist.
  • Carry out therapeutic exercises, manual techniques, neuromuscular re-education, and functional training.
  • Help patients progress safely toward strength, mobility, balance, and recovery goals.
  • Monitor patient response during treatment and communicate updates to the supervising Physical Therapist.
  • Educate patients on home exercise programs, positioning, and safety.
  • Document treatment sessions accurately and promptly in the clinic’s EMR system.
  • Maintain a positive, organized, and professional treatment environment.
  • Collaborate with therapists, technicians, front office staff, and clinic leadership.
  • Ensure patient safety, equipment cleanliness, and compliance with clinic standards.

Skills:

  • Strong understanding of outpatient orthopedic therapy and therapeutic exercise.
  • Ability to follow and progress treatment plans within PTA scope of practice.
  • Excellent patient engagement and coaching skills.
